A Look Back at 2015

Wow! It's hard to believe that 2015 is already came and went! We took the past couple of months off from blogging as we have been working hard at revamping our services, and really defining our branding and setting huge goals on what we want to accomplish in 2016. Stay tuned for more on our plans soon! It wouldn't be fair of us to not take a look back at what we believe was truly a year of growth for us. We are so grateful for the amazing clients and vendors and the events and projects we were able to execute.

Exactly a year ago this month we were finalizing our website and officially launching Vision of Elegance LLC.

February was the calm before the storm. Not to mention we had a lot of snow storms. The next couple of months shaped up to be extremely busy.

On Super Bowl Sunday, we woke up to this.

In March, we participated in our first Bridal Show which was held at The Hotel Orrington in Evanston, and took a new set of floral classes.

In April, we participated in the Big Fake Wedding in Chicago and watched Ashley and Martin renew their vows.

In May, things did not slow down. We kicked off the month partnering with several talented amazing vendors and did a Bridal Luncheon Styled Shoot at RM Champagne and worked with the Prairie House in Oak Park, IL and did a photo shoot to help promote the space.

Below is a great photo of the Bridal Luncheon Styled Shoot.

What a month June was! Not only did we celebrate our daughter's first birthday but we also worked on the most AMAZING Masquerade styled shoot with a lot of talented vendors. Here is a link to our gallery ( )

July was time for some personal family vacation. My mother, father, husband (Ryan), daughter (Layla) and I traveled to one of my favorite places in the world, my home country Norway. We arrived in Oslo, which is extremely close to where I grew up. I was reunited with my childhood friend after not having seen her for 16 years. We then traveled North to above the Arctic Circle to my dads hometown of Harstad. We stayed with my aunt and uncle and toured the northern regions. It was great to finally be able to introduce my husband and daughter to all the family. Our last stop was Stavanger which is wonderful Norwegian town where my sister was living. There, I met some fantastic vendors and worked on a project that is so near to my heart and I am looking forward to announcing in the next couple of months so stay tuned.

We arrived back in Chicago and August was approaching fast. The beginning of the month was going to be jammed packed with two weddings back to back. First, we flew to Calgary, Alberta, Canada where I coordinated the wedding for Adam and Reema. We left Calgary arrived back in Chicago and I repacked my bag and car and made my way to Michigan for Sarah and Johns wedding. It was a busy 2 weeks but there was a reward at the end of the tunnel: a cruise in the Caribbean to celebrate my father-in-law's 60th Birthday and his retirement was a nice pay off.

A cruise in the Caribbean is exactly what the doctor ordered after a double header. Labadee Haiti, Jamaica, Cancun, Mexico were all fantastic, but the open sea is where my heart is at. Its beautiful, peaceful and I did a ton of brainstorming.

Things slowed down for us in September and October and was a great opportunity for family time before gearing up for what was going to be busy end of the year.

We kicked off December and holiday season by decorating the Guest House Hotel in Andersonville, in Chicago, IL.

We closed out 2016 with a Editorial Shoot with BrideSide and Aisle Society.

I have to say 2015 was a great start for Vision of Elegance and I really can´t wait to see where it goes. I will say if it was anything like this year. 2016 is going to be 1,000 times better.

Cheers to 2016!

XOXOXOXO
