As promised in our last blog post, we have a closer look at the BrideSide dresses that where used in our BrideSide/Aisle Society styled shoot for the -#AlterEgo Bridesmaid dresses by Kelly Faetanini.
The concept behind the #AlterEgo line is that these beautiful dresses start out as gowns for the ceremony and can then convert into shorter dresses for later in the evening. We absolutely LOVE the idea and think it's really cool that a bridesmaid can go from a long gown to a cocktail dress so that your girls can dance the night away at the reception. Since they're so flexible, we really think that your bridesmaids will have more opportunities to use them. Gone are the days of not wearing your bridesmaid dress again.
One of our favorites is the Sheridan cocktail dress in Champagne paired with the Grand skirt in Rose (picture is to the left). We also love that you can pick several different colors for the bottom skirt which makes the line really flexible so you can always pick dress colors that go great with any color palate for the wedding. We also love how BrideSide has named each of their pieces after several well known streets here in Chicago, IL.
We asked BrideSide's style consultant Mary Kate to give us a closer look at the dress line and the process of working with her.
Hello brides, my name is Mary Kate and I’m a style consultant for Brideside in Chicago. This means I spend my days working with brides across the country helping them find the perfect bridesmaid dresses from the top designers in the industry. I help each bridal party coordinate the sizes and orders for all of the bridesmaids; all while being the bride’s go-to wedding resource throughout the entire process.
In my role, I style dozens of bridal parties a month from California, New York, Chicago, and many other cities. Regularly brides ask me, “what bridesmaid dress style is the best to be worn again?” No matter the location, my bride values finding dress styles that work for her wedding vision while also pleasing her bridesmaids.
As a style consultant at Brideside I spend my days working with local Chicago brides and brides spread across the country. No matter the location, I love making my brides' lives easier!
For local brides, we have a gorgeous showroom in the West Loop where we can meet, try on dresses, and make decisions for your bridal party while the bride and guests enjoy a glass of champagne.
For brides not local to Chicago, I can send style boards for inspiration, free fabric swatches, and dress samples to help you make decisions from the comfort of home. Additionally, Brideside can send the entire bridal party samples to try on after the bride has chosen a color or designer. No matter the location, New York to Los Angeles, we can send each bridesmaid a Brideside box so she can choose a dress without leaving home.
Luckily, Brideside carries an exclusive collection that is perfect for the savvy bride that wants to style her bridesmaids in something gorgeous for the wedding day and versatile for wearing again.
Kelly Faetanini and Brideside teamed up to create a collection of cocktail dresses and floor-length skirts in a gorgeous color palette. Honoring the location of Brideside’s headquarters, each dress and skirt is named after a street in Chicago. The concept allows the dresses and skirts to be worn together in any combination. You can see the entire collection on Brideside’s website linked here
I love sharing this collection with my brides because the combinations are effortless. Together they look classic and fashion-forward. Plus, ditch the skirt for the reception and the bridesmaids are ready to dance the night away.
Aside from the freshness of this collection for the wedding day, the cocktail dress and skirt can be worn separately for a special event. I’ve even seen bridesmaids dress the skirt down with a jean jacket and wear it to a bridal shower or lunch with friends.
If you are a newly engaged bride planning your 2017 wedding, be sure to consider this collection for your bridesmaids. Trust me, your bridesmaids will thank you.
